There’s No Such Thing as Small, Medium, or Large
One of the biggest misconceptions we see is the idea that suit jackets come in simple sizes like small, medium, or extra‑large. That might work for T‑shirts, but not for tailored garments. Suits are far more precise.
Jackets are sized by chest measurement, not general clothing size. This means you’ll see sizes like 92, 96, 100, 104, 108, and so on. These numbers refer to the measurement around the fullest part of your chest, taken in centimetres. A few centimetres can make a big difference in how a jacket sits on your shoulders, chest, and back.
This precision is what gives a suit its clean lines and sharp silhouette.
Short, Regular, and Tall: Why Length Matters
Chest size is only half the story. Jackets also come in different lengths to suit different body proportions:

2. Chest and Buttoning
You should be able to button the jacket without strain. If the fabric pulls into an “X” shape across the front, it’s too tight. If it looks loose or baggy, you may need a smaller chest size.
3. Sleeve Length
Sleeves should finish at the wrist bone, allowing a small amount of shirt cuff to show. Too long or too short throws off the whole look.
4. Jacket Length
The bottom of the jacket should roughly align with your knuckles when your arms are relaxed at your sides. This keeps the proportions clean and flattering.
